CRAZY

This week was crazy but what week isn't, not surprised its almost TGIF, but in this crazy life it doesn't really matter what day of the week it is. Sunday as I was checking all the doors to make sure we were locked in and secure I found a present on my door knob.

Scary because had I not been paying attention, like talking on my cell phone, I would have reached for the deadbolt to make sure it was locked without even looking & probably gotten bit. I made a comment to my husband when their's one, their's two. My son Cade was out mowing a few days after that and another snake exactly like this one came out on the driveway. What is it with these snakes what are they doing in or around my house? I guess I need to get a cat or ferret. I figured it had to do with the storm that blew in from the hurricane.
We have friends and family that lost their homes in Galveston, devastating. But so did 75% of the people that lived or had houses, business's in Galveston. It's truly amazing how quickly mother nature can come in and leave bringing such devastation. I pray for those people that stayed behind in their houses, that are now gone. My uncle sent me pictures he received
Absolutely devastating! Our friends lived in their home permanently and lost everything. When they evacutated they took 3 sets of clothes and few other things but left everyhing not imagining the hurricane would do as much damage as it did. They said they just figured they'd be able to come back after the storm and they would still have a home. All they have left is a slab, everything they worked so hard for is gone. Now they live in a motel in Ennis waiting on the insurance companies to figure out what there next plan will be. It breaks my heart because they are literally in limbo, no home, no job, no possessions - but they have each other so that is what keeps them going. It's the waiting game to figure out where they go from here & waiting on insurance, which will take months. I pray for all the people, impacted by Hurricane Ike and pray that FEMA, the government and all of us people figure a way to help get this clean up and rebuild process started quickly - these families have no homes, no electricity, no clean water!

1ST TIME BLOGGER

WELL ITS A NEW WEEK & I DECIDED TO START A BLOG. I HAVE WANTED TO START MY OWN BLOG FOR QUITE SOME TIME NOW AND ITS FINALLY HERE. I ENJOY READING OTHER BLOGS & LEARNING ABOUT THEIR BUSINESS OR FAMILY, SO HERE WE ARE.

A FEW WEEKS AGO MY KIDS STARTED BACK TO SCHOOL, I WAS GLAD FOR THIS, THEY WERE EATING ME OUT OF MY HOUSE - MY GROCERY BILL WAS OUT OF THIS WORLD.

I SEEMED TO THINK IT WOULD BE LESS HECTIC ONCE SCHOOL STARTED. FORGETTING THAT HOMEWORK, 8TH GRADE & JV FOOTBALL & TENNIS ARE ALL BACK IN SEASON. SO MY HUSBAND & I WILL BE SPENDING OUR DAYS WORKING & SEVERAL EVENINGS A WEEK GOING TO FOOTBALL GAMES & TENNIS MATCHES. WE ABSOLUTELY LOVE MOST OF IT, EXCEPT THE HOMEWORK PART- GOING BACK TO ALGEBRA DAYS IS ANOTHER STORY :)

MY HUSBAND, MARTY SPENT THE WEEKEND AT THE DEER LEASE GETTING READY FOR DEER SEASON, SO IT GAVE ME A CHANCE TO DO SOME SPRING CLEANING OR SHOULD I SAY FALL CLEANING. IT IS A WONDERFUL FEELING WHEN YOU CLEAN OUT ROOMS AND RE-ORGANIZE COMPLETELY. TWO OF MY BOYS ROOMS VERY DIRTY. (MY DEFINITION OF DIRTY WOULD BE CLOTHES, TOYS, STUFF EVERYWHERE - ON, UNDER, AROUND, IN THE BED, NOT BEING ABLE TO OPEN CLOSETS WITHOUT STUFF FALLING ON YOU). NO WONDER THEY COULDN'T EVER FIND ANYTHING, I FOUND IT HIDDEN IN THE BACK CORNER UNDERNEATH THE BED. AS WERE THE HUNDREDS, IF NOT THOUSANDS OF SMALL PLASTIC ROUND PELLETS USED FOR THOSE USELESS PELLET GUNS. LET'S SEE HOW LONG IT TAKES FOR THEM TO START ASKING WHERE I PUT EVERYTHING NOW THATS ITS ORGANIZED AND PUT AWAY IN ITS PROPER PLACE :) ITS FUNNY WHEN YOU TELL THE KIDS EVERY WEEK TO CLEAN THEIR ROOMS GOOD AND THEN EVERY SO OFTEN TO CLEAN OUT DRAWS & OLD CLOTHES THAT DON'T FIT - THEY SEEM TO PUSH THEM UNDER THE BED, IN THE BOTTOM OF THEIR DRAWS, THE BACK OF THE CLOSET ANYWHERE THE NAKED EYE CAN'T SEE WHEN SKIMMING OVER THE ROOM FOR INSPECTION - SINCE WHEN IS THAT CALLED CLEANING. SO AFTER THIS THOROUGH CLEAN UP, I THREATENED THEM WITH BEING GROUNDED, NO CELL PHONE, NO COMPUTER, NO FRIENDS FOR A MONTH - IF THEIR ROOM GETS BACK TO THE UNSANITATIONAL WAY IT WAS. AND YOU KNOW WHAT I GOT "YEAH MOM THAT'S WHAT YOU ALWAYS TELL US". I'M HOPING ONE DAY THEY WILL WANT TO BE ORGANIZED, CLEAN AND KNOW WHERE THEIR THINGS ARE - SO UNTIL THEN I'LL KEEP TELLING MYSELF ONE DAY THEY WILL BE CLEAN. I DID FIND OUT WHERE ALL MY BATTERIES DISSAPPEARED TOO, FOUND ABOUT 25 OF THEM BETWEEN THE MATTRESS, UNDER THE BED, IN DRAWS - NOT SURE IF THEY WORK. :)

MY NEXT TASK IS A GET RID OF IT ALL SALE (GARAGE SALE)!

BEST WISHES TO YOU ALL!
