CRAZY

This week was crazy but what week isn't, not surprised its almost TGIF, but in this crazy life it doesn't really matter what day of the week it is. Sunday as I was checking all the doors to make sure we were locked in and secure I found a present on my door knob.

Scary because had I not been paying attention, like talking on my cell phone, I would have reached for the deadbolt to make sure it was locked without even looking & probably gotten bit. I made a comment to my husband when their's one, their's two. My son Cade was out mowing a few days after that and another snake exactly like this one came out on the driveway. What is it with these snakes what are they doing in or around my house? I guess I need to get a cat or ferret. I figured it had to do with the storm that blew in from the hurricane.
We have friends and family that lost their homes in Galveston, devastating. But so did 75% of the people that lived or had houses, business's in Galveston. It's truly amazing how quickly mother nature can come in and leave bringing such devastation. I pray for those people that stayed behind in their houses, that are now gone. My uncle sent me pictures he received
Absolutely devastating! Our friends lived in their home permanently and lost everything. When they evacutated they took 3 sets of clothes and few other things but left everyhing not imagining the hurricane would do as much damage as it did. They said they just figured they'd be able to come back after the storm and they would still have a home. All they have left is a slab, everything they worked so hard for is gone. Now they live in a motel in Ennis waiting on the insurance companies to figure out what there next plan will be. It breaks my heart because they are literally in limbo, no home, no job, no possessions - but they have each other so that is what keeps them going. It's the waiting game to figure out where they go from here & waiting on insurance, which will take months. I pray for all the people, impacted by Hurricane Ike and pray that FEMA, the government and all of us people figure a way to help get this clean up and rebuild process started quickly - these families have no homes, no electricity, no clean water!
